I am so over the cloudy days around here. I mean, day number eight or something with no end in sight! But the rain also makes me feel like getting my hands dirty in a garden and watching things grow. Which translates to planting some potted plants and watching them slowly die in the summer sun. I do not have a green thumb. I have even managed to kill a succulent. It can be done! (They don’t like the heat from the fireplace much. Just FYI.)
I would like to continue my spring trends post. And I can’t believe how much the late 70s/early 80s are in this season. I mean, most of the dresses look like prom dresses from that era- ruffles, cotton dresses with floral patterns and romantic little details. You know very similar to this one-
Suddenly I’m smelling baby oil on sunburned skin and I have an overwhelming desire to break out the Doctor Scholl’s slides with the wooden bottoms. I am totally dating myself here but I can remember when ladies used to deep condition their hair with mayo. And I would be playing dress up in some old flouncy dress (just like the ones on trend for spring) and some wooden clogs. Ah, the early 80s were a good time!

Here are a few fun options for spring-

Are you seeing the pattern here? All I can say is, wow, girly, feminine looks are really back. My inner hippie is loving this as I think the boho trend is pushing most of these looks. But there is something so nostalgic and familiar about this trend.
And for those of you born in the 90s or above, I’m sure this is exciting as it’s probably your first time through! 🙂
