We moved into this house almost a year and a half ago. And with this post, I can officially say that every room in our house has been painted. Okay, minus the living room, the kids’ bathroom and the garage. But they don’t count, do they?
The point is this is a hallmark occasion. And it just so happens that a hallway was last on my list. Why was it last? Because it was a huge, gigantic pain in the “you-know-what” to paint. I really needed some kind of scaffolding. But instead I had a regular sized ladder, a few ledges, acrobatics and a WHOLE lot of sweating. I can honestly say it is the worst paint job I’ve done in a long time. But who’ll notice? (Just all of you. 🙂
The sweating was worth it. It was the last “room” that had the plasticky shine-y, glossy white primed look. Yea! I chose to paint the room Bleeker Beige by Benjamin Moore in the hopes that I never, ever have to paint that hallway again. Okay, well, at least until my children are in high school or something.
Here is the before-

And here is the after-

Isn’t it so much more easy on the eyes? I can’t wait to make it a gallery wall. But you’ll have to wait for that in another post.
Oh, and don’t mind the two toned ledge. I’m still undecided on what I’d like to see happen with that. And it is a good thing I like to paint because all of the door frames, window frames and doors are still waiting for me.
Maybe by next year!
