Work Party- Cocktail Invite
It’s work party season! And that means deciphering invitations. For more information on what exactly the differences are in wording on dress code, read this post here.
When the wording says “cocktail,” you’ll need a fancy dress. It isn’t “formal” but it should be a step up from something you’d wear to work.
You basically have four options which I’ve given examples of below.
1) Red- it stands alone from the color category because it is a stand out. Remember the song?
2) Black, white or a combo- a classic and always a safe bet
3) Metallics or neutrals- very flattering and will put you in the holiday spirit
4) A bright color- definitely an attention grabber but also very festive!
I hope this helps you know what kind of dress to buy or pull from your closet when preparing for those seeming ambiguous work parties!
