It happens. It always does. People forget that I’m a human, a mom and a busy lady. I just want to point out that I do often times feel like a fraud.
Ninety percent of the time I’m put together. Unless you come visit me at home. Then you might find me in whatever I painted in last. Because at home, I’m rarely without project. This mind is working 24 hours a day on something whether or not any actual work gets done. But that leaves me in painting clothes the majority of the day.

Which doesn’t fly well when you’re a fashion blogger.
Today for instance, I broke all of my own “rules” and did a few errands in said painting clothes. Not cool. I don’t know how I let these things slide. Pretty soon I’ll be in yoga pants 24/7. And when you’re at home, that’s cool. But not shopping. And picking up kids. And talking to friends.
In my defense, I do have a cold. And am feeling a little yucky. And had also been in the attic full of insulation.
But who am I kidding? I cannot use these excuses!
I think this summer my style has really been slipping. Most summers are tricky anyway. (For you girls who live where it is hot, I have no idea how you do it.) When the thermometer is on the rise, forget layering. Forget jewelry. Forget doing your hair. It’s all about survival of the fittest. I guess that’s what those same girls would be saying when the temperature goes below zero here.
You have the proof. It’s in the pictures. I’m not always up to par. But I keep on plucking away. And I’ll do better this fall and winter. Because I do enjoy putting things together.
And you girls I saw today in “whatever-I’m-not-ready-yet” outfits. I feel ya. I wasn’t either.
