The kiddos are on spring break this week so my posts will be brief in order to get on with any and all shenanigans planned.

Here is the key wisdom I can pass along for my Monday…toilet seats have a lifespan.  After ten years, it is time to install a new one.  Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon changing out toilet seats.  A very disgusting and gross job.

And let me tell you, this is an instance where more expensive isn’t always better.  I like the $10 plastic toilet seats.  Because they clean up so nicely.  No blue dye left on the seat, no chipping and scratching.  And when you have a household that includes three little boys, you need things to clean up nicely in the bathroom.  That’s all I’m sayin.

Ladies, if you are looking for a short and sweet job to do on your own, you can totally handle this one.  All you need is a screwdriver, some gloves and good thing the toilet is close incase you feel the need to gag.

A Little Painting

Spring is in the air and the weather has been glorious!  Of course, I broke out my paint brush in celebration!

Here’s just a quick little project I did and blast, I can never remember to take before photos! I’m always in too big a hurry to get to the final look!

This little doohickey I picked up at a local shop.  I can’t even tell you what it’s supposed to be but I saw its potential.  It could hold plates or something flat or even a plant.  Maybe that’s what it was created to do.  Anyone know?  I can’t wait to fill this basket up with Easter eggs!

It was a very yucky old brass color and I took it outside and gave it a lovely new oil-rubbed bronze color.  I love it so much.  Whatever it is.

Girls Nite

I had a chance to get away for the night with my favorite group of ladies.  I was the only one toting along a child but no one complained.  He loved crashing the party with nine ladies.

We had a little wine and paint party of our own.  You know me and paint.  I’m a happy camper with a paint brush in my hand, even if usually it’s more of a household brush than an artist’s.  I have been waiting for a chance to do a small picture of a truck, much like my Ford “Stanley.” So while the others did butterflies and crosses, I started on my truck.

Here’s the rough draft, so please no laughing.  I hope I’m actually able to complete this painting project.  It makes me wonder how any artist ever knows if their picture is done.  ?

Beyond that we played some games, went out to eat and tried our hands at arm knitting.  I think I’ll stick to painting…

I loved every minute!
