Today's outfit is for the brave. I don't wear much red but when I really want to wear it, I wear it loud.

This year, I am really in love with ear muffs. Not only are they a fun accessory option but I absolutely hate it when the wind blows in my ears. I have really sensitive ears and will pull up my collar or cover my ears with my hands if I've forgotten a hat. I've learned to take my ear muffs with me everywhere. #thisis40

If you've enjoyed the fluffy, fuzzy jackets, I have too. This one is a super red. A paint the town red. There's something I enjoy about bright colors. I'm typically dressed in light neutrals and once in awhile, you gotta just plunge into something electric.

I kept the rest of my outfit pretty tame, striped shirt, my Hunter boots (which are a great snow option, especially when it's up to your knees), my same black fleece leggings and a few more funky accessories- sunglasses and some fluffy mittens.

Do you dare wear something so outrageous?

Snow in Iowa is no joke. And you either love it or hate it, it seems. I say, embrace it. It's part of what makes us appreciate summer, right?

Here is a warm winter outfit that doesn't look like you rolled out of bed.

I started with fleece lined leggings (girl, if you don't own some, you NEED some). They are so toasty and cozy. This pair has a tough outer layer that makes them super warm and snow proof. I wore them skiing. Seriously, w-a-r-m!

Then I added a cashmere sweater in one of my favorite colors. I love lavender so much! The color in the sweater makes the outfit because of it's pop.

Don't forget warm boots and puffer coat (preferably with faux fur) and some accessories.

This outfit would keep you cozy all day! Now let's take on that snow pile!

It's officially WINTER around here and I'm not mad about it.

I know many people don't particularly enjoy winter or more specifically SNOW, which we have been getting consistently around home for days and days. I don't really mind it.

Now, when it's April and we're getting this snow, I'm over it. But we had such a nice December, balmy temps and no snow, that it's okay if it snows now. I can't imagine living in a place where you don't get to experience all of the seasons. It's nice to slow down, stay home and be cozy for a stint.

Next week I'm going to feature some fun winter outfits for you- how to stay stylish in the cold snow. Here's a little preview:
