You're all ready for football and fall and guess what, the weather is nearing 100. It's hot, it's humid and you're sad that you can't wear jeans and a jacket.

This is not what we signed up for. ;)

Well, here's an outfit for those football days that just don't want to shake the summer sun. Here's the silver lining, at least you're not freezing to death!

For this outfit, I chose a denim skirt instead of shorts. It seems a little dressier for a Friday night but I kept it very casual with tennies and a team tshirt.

I also threw on a cardigan in case that sun goes down and there's a little chill. Layers are super important when the event is outside!

This bag is my camera bag and it goes with me to all sporting events. Because I'm that mom. :)

Don't forget your sunglasses! It might be hard to see that first half!

In honor of our high school's homecoming, I thought I would share a little project that's been in the works for some time. What to wear to your kids' games.

After years of tired sweatshirts and tshirts, I am seeing lots of more fun options on what to wear as a mom to games. You don't have to look like you're part of the team just to attend a game!

So all this week, I am going to feature different looks for different weather! Because let's face it, some of us are wearing our school's colors almost all week long anyway (some type of sporting event every day!). And I don't want you to feel stuck. There are so many fun combinations to try.

So come along with me during my spirit week. #gospartans

Now that the kiddos have started back to school, I feel the need to update you on our next adventure in house rehab. For those of you that read this blog religiously a few years back, you will remember that I took you through our last house rehab when we purchased a house in our neighborhood that needed some fixing up.

Well, we did it again. We purchased a house in our neighborhood that needed work and let's just say it's condition at purchase time was in more dier needs than the previous one. We are super excited to own the property though and have big plans for its future.

I will only show you a few of the "befores" in this post. I'll save the rest for down the line. If you want some sneak peaks into the head of this designer and what the after is going to look like, you can follow along on my Pinterest board at: https://www.pinterest.com/stylefmthestixs/starting-from-scratch/

Here is the outside in December:

The front steps are in bad shape. They need replacing as soon as we can get to it.

Here are a few shots of the interior.

This bedroom had been organized already a little.

We have had a lot of work to do in our "spare" time this spring and summer. But it's come a long way since these pictures.

Are you ready to come along on this journey with me?

Never miss an update
