The moment that I saw this top in the shop, I was in love. It called my name the instant I walked in. It's boho and has all the feminine details that I love- crochet, sheer, texture. And I paired it with this beaded necklace that has a little hint of another color to make it pop off the shirt.

This top would be great on a date night or a concert, a girls night out- it's meant to be celebrated!

Summer Vibes

We have officially entered the dog days of summer. I really love these slower, lazy days. When the kids have run out of juice on their normal summer shenanigans and the ball days are over. This sweet little gap between back-to-school and registration and football camp. As my kids get older, I really treasure these days. They are as rare as free Saturday mornings at home during the school year.

And that brings me to your summer wardrobe. Summer is so easy. A few new dresses, a great pair of shorts, and some fun tops and you can get through the whole summer. But now is also the time to score some really good deals on summer stuff, if you have the patience for it. I love to pick up a few new things on sale now to pack up for next year.

When I first started this blog, there wasn't a clothing store in my little region of the sticks. Since then, stores have come and gone. As I am now firing this blog back up again, I thought collaborating with a little store that recently opened called the Funky Zebra would be fun!

I chose some outfits that I felt really expressed what I would wear this season and some scores that you might want to pack away for next year. For the rest of the week, I can't wait to show you them!

Today's outfit is pretty easy going. I love myself a kimono. If you don't have one, GOT GET ONE. I wear these things to my kids' ballgames (especially on days when I've had too much sun), I wear them out, I wear them when I get a little chill in the A/C. These babies are wonderful. I feel they've become the replacement for the scarves that we all had two years ago.

My New Site

I have been MIA for a few years now. But I'm back! I am happy to announce my new website, which has been a process loving created by me. When I first started my blog, back in 2011, I really felt that I had a gift to share. I love fashion and I felt I could help women understand that style doesn't have to be difficult.

Through the years my blog has seen lots of projects- I've been a part of Real Housewives of Eastern Iowa through St. Luke's Hospital and it was fun to dabble in lifestyle posts.

I have also taken you on our journey through our first fixer upper which is now "complete." We now have a second home project called Starting from Scratch. More on that later!
