Black Friday Stores #4 & #5

After spending several hours at the Dillards Outlet, I thought it would be fun to drive all the way across Omaha and hit the new outlet mall.  I’ve heard that the day it opened people were parking on the interstate because it was so full.  Of course I had to check this out.

Now if it was that crazy on opening day, I was expecting some sort of madhouse on Black Friday. While it was busy, I didn’t think it was any more crazy than any other outlet mall on any given day that I’ve been to, minus one store.  Under Armour.

I think the world has gone mad over this brand.  It is all my children want and it reminds me so much of the days when Nike first was the “it” brand.  You had to have Nike shoes, Nike sweatshirts, Nike, Nike, Nike.  While Nike is still very popular, Under Armour is the new “it” brand for athletics.  Whatever.  I’m willing to give them a chance and wear a few of their workout clothes. But if they really wanted to impress me, they’d figure out how to make those yoga pants take five pounds off just by wearing them!

I bought a few things for the Mr. at the outlet mall and the only store that I found any great Black Friday deals in was Ann Taylor.  (I didn’t even go in the Coach store because it had a line to get in….why???)  Normally I can’t afford much in Ann Taylor.  I stick to Loft because you know I like to buy cheap!  But on Black Friday they had cashmere sweaters for $40!  In a rainbow of colors!  I bought two.  And I convinced my shopping “buddy” to buy two too!  They are simple pullover v-necks.  Unless they get holes or pill like crazy, these things will never be out of style.  I’ll wear them until they fall apart!

The last place we ventured on Black Friday was…wait for it…Goodwill.  It is hard to be in Omaha and not complete a day of shopping without hitting one.

I didn’t look through the clothes.  I mainly shopped for the kids and went through the housewares. One great bargain they had was 50% off all designer purses.  They must have known I was coming.

#Dooney & Bourke

Dooney & Bourke

I bought this cute little Dooney & Bourke crossbody for $15.  But I left the Prada purse there simply because it had a fold over the top clasp that just didn’t want to stay shut tight.  I could envision all of my items all over the floor somewhere.  So I left the Prada for some other devil.

Ironically enough I bought an Under Armour sweatshirt at Goodwill that looked brand new after just being at the outlet store.  And I also found tons of fun household items.  It was a successful stop, like it almost always is at Goodwill in Omaha.

By then I was exhausted.  At least 12 hours of shopping later, it was time to call it a day.  My wallet thanked me.  Until next year Black Friday!

Black Friday Store #2

To continue my Black Friday shopping extravaganza, I think we finally left Nebraska Furniture Mart at about eight o’clock.  And just about across the street is a Target.  So guess where we headed next
